My Story

Hi, my name is Noura. I'm a graphic and UI designer currently studying at the University of Washington Bothell. I'm an enthusiastic and curious person, who likes to find inspiration everywhere I go.

I’ve moved around a lot. I’ve lived in England, Ireland, and Egypt before moving to Seattle at 18 in 2021. Egypt was home for most of my life, where I grew up surrounded by family, warmth, and culture. Moving to Seattle felt like starting from scratch and hitting a reset button. But over time, I built a new home here. Now, home is both. Egypt will always be a part of me, but Seattle is where I’ve grown into the designer and person I am today.

My Design Approach

I’m a designer who’s always looking for ways to tell a story. Moving to Seattle at 18 pushed me to see the world differently and find my own creative voice. I wasn’t surrounded by the culture, history, and traditions I had known for most of my life, but that gave me the chance to explore beyond what was familiar. Now, my work is shaped by both where I come from and what I’ve experienced along the way.

Design isn’t just about how something looks, rather it’s about how it makes people feel. Whenever I design, I ask myself: How can I make someone stop and feel something? Because good design isn’t just something you see, it’s something you experience. Colors, shapes, and visuals can completely change how we perceive something, and coming from different backgrounds, I always think about how to create designs that feel natural and universal. I want my work to be accessible, meaningful, and something that anyone can connect with.

I like to learn from everyone around me, whether it’s a professional in the field or a fellow student, everyone has their own perspective, and no two people see the world the same way.
